The 2011 IZOD IndyCar World Championship was Round 18 of the 2011 IZOD IndyCar Series. The event was held at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States on 16 October 2011. Tony Kanaan started on pole position but the race was abandoned after a major accident which claimed the life of Dan Wheldon.
