The 2014 Russian Grand Prix was Round 16 of the 2014 FIA Formula 1 World Championship and the inaugural Russian Grand Prix.. The event was held in Sochi, Russia on Sunday, 21 October 2014. Lewis Hamilton started on pole position for Mercedes and was the race winner.
A minute’s silence was held immediately before the race in honour of Jules Bianchi who had been critically injured at the previous championship round in Japan. Lewis Hamilton dedicated his race victory to Jules.
