François Cévert was a French F1 driver who raced in the Formula 1 World Championship between 1970 and 1973. Driving a Tyrrell Ford, he won the 1971 United States Grand Prix at Watkins Glen but was tragically killed in a horrific crash at the same circuit 2 years later. His brother-in-law was Jean-Pierre Beltoise.
