The 1980 Indianapolis 500 was the 64th running of “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing”. The event was held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indiana, United States on Sunday, 25 May 1980. Johnny Rutherford started on pole position and was the race winner. Having also won in 1976 and 1974, this was Rutherford’s third and final Indy 500 victory.
