The 2001 Indianapolis 500 was the 85th running of “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing” and Round 4 of the 2001 Indy Racing Northern Light Series. The event was held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indiana, United States on Sunday, 27 May 2001. Scott Sharp started on pole position and Helio Castroneves was the race winner.
