The 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix was Round 10 of the 2009 FIA Formula 1 World Championship. The event was held at the Hungaroring in Hungary on Sunday, 26 July 2009. Fernando Alonso started on pole position in the Renault and Lewis Hamilton was the race winner in the McLaren Mercedes.
Felipe Massa was seriously injured during Qualifying when he was struck above his left eye by an errant suspension spring from Rubens Barrichello‘s Brawn and knocked unconscious. As a result of the injuries he sustained in this accident, Massa would take no further part in the 2009 F1 season.
