The 2009 Malaysian Grand Prix was Round 2 of the 2009 FIA Formula 1 World Championship. The event was held at Sepang, Selangor, Malaysia on Sunday, 5 April 2009. Jenson Button started on pole position in the Brawn Mercedes and was declared the race winner when the Grand Prix was abandoned after 31 laps due to bad weather. For the first time since the 1991 Australian Grand Prix, only half points were awarded to the top 8 finishers of this race.
