Jody Scheckter is a South African Formula One World Champion who won the Drivers Title with Ferrari in 1979.  He was nicknamed “Sideways Scheckter” and “Baby Bear”. Jody won 10 Formula 1 Grands Prix and claimed 3 pole positions during his F1 career. He is the first and only South African racing driver to have won a Formula One Grand Prix, as well as the World Championship. He is a double winner of the Monaco Grand Prix and the Swedish Grand Prix. Today he owns and runs Laverstoke Park Farm, an biodynamic and organic farm in Hampshire, England.

During an interview with Beyond The Grid – The F1® Podcast released on 19 June 2019, Jody Scheckter talked about how he was unfazed by Emerson Fittipaldi raging at him after their collision in the 1973 French Grand Prix and also by the fallout from the infamous multiple pile up he caused at the 1973 British Grand Prix. He also recounted being first on the scene of François Cévert’s horrific fatal accident during Saturday morning qualifying for the 1973 United States Grand Prix.
