Johnny Herbert is a British ex-F1 driver who raced in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship between 1989 and 2000. He recovered from sustaining horrific injuries to both his ankles in a 1988 FIA Formula 3000 International Championship race at Brands Hatch to win 3 Grands Prix, including the 1995 British Grand Prix in front of his home crowd at Silverstone and the 1995 Italian Grand Prix and 1999 European Grand Prix. He also famously won the 1985 Formula Ford Festival and the 1991 Le Mans 24 Hours race for Mazda.
