Max Verstappen is a Dutch F1 driver who was born in Hasselt, Belgium and races for the Red Bull Racing team. Verstappen has been racing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship since 2015 and made his debut for Toro Rosso at the 2015 Australian Grand Prix. Verstappen graduated to the senior Red Bull team in 2016 and won first time out for the team in the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix. After a thrilling season long battle with Lewis Hamilton in 2021, Verstappen ended the British driver’s run of championship success by overtaking him on the final lap of the season finale, the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. He went on to dominate the 2022 World Championship and set a new record by winning 15 races in a single season. He has always raced with number 33 in Formula One. He is the son of Jos Verstappen, who raced in Formula One between 1994 and 2003.
