René Arnoux is a French ex-F1 driver who raced in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship between 1978 and 1989. During stints with Renault and Ferrari, he won 7 Grands Prix and claimed 18 pole positions but may be best remembered for his thrilling wheel-banging duel with Gilles Villeneuve at the 1979 French Grand Prix.
