The 1999 Japanese Grand Prix was Round 16 of the 1999 FIA Formula 1 World Championship. The event was held at Suzuka, Japan on Sunday, 31 October 1999. Michael Schumacher started on pole position for Ferrari and Mika Häkkinen was the race winner in the McLaren Mercedes. The result of this Grand Prix sealed the outcome of the 1999 Drivers Championship and Häkkinen won the world title for the second and last time.
