The 1995 Australian Grand Prix was Round 17 of the 1995 FIA Formula 1 World Championship. The event was held in Adelaide, Australia on Sunday, 12 November 1995. Damon Hill started on pole position in the Williams Renault and was the race winner.

Mika Häkkinen was seriously injured during the Qualifying Session on Friday when he suffered a left rear puncture on the approach to Brewery Bend and crashed his McLaren Mercedes heavily into tyre barriers at 120mph. Häkkinen fractured his skull and was knocked unconscious in the accident and trackside doctors were forced to perform an emergency tracheotomy to save his life. Remarkably, he made a full recovery and would return to race action at the first race of the following season in Melbourne
