The 1996 Japanese Grand Prix was Round 16 of the 1996 FIA Formula 1 World Championship. The event was held at Suzuka, Japan on Sunday, 13 October 1996. Jacques Villeneuve started on pole position in the Williams Renault and his team-mate Damon Hill was the race winner. The result of this Grand Prix sealed the outcome of the 1996 Drivers Championship and Hill won the world title.
