The 1986 Spanish Grand Prix was Round 2 of the 1986 FIA Formula 1 World Championship. The event was held in Jerez, Spain on Sunday, 13 April 1986. Ayrton Senna started on pole position in the Lotus Renault and was the race winner.
This was the first ever Formula One Grand Prix to be held at Jerez and the race saw one of the closest finishes in F1 history with Senna taking the win from a charging Nigel Mansell by just 0.014 seconds.
